EDUCATION - Schools

Our schools programme offers a range of services such as loans boxes, independent or structured visits, object handling boxes and an outreach service. We are able to tailor your visit to suit all groups and they can either be lead independently or by an artist educator.

The museum’s Collection can help support a range of cross curriculum subjects and encourages hands on learning, analysing and exploring. We can help support a range of national curriculum subjects and topics from art and design, citizenship and history.

If you would like to talk about a visit then please call Natalie Franklin (Assistant Curator) on: 01273 844744 or if you are unable to find anything on this page that meets your needs or if you have any questions then please do not hesitate to call.

Object handling Boxes

The object handling boxes are an in-house museum resource that can be used to support school visits and curriculum topics. The boxes are full of activities and resources that help to bring the collection alive and remove the boundaries that traditional forms of museum displays put in place.

These resources originated from a partnership project between Ditchling Museum and St. Margaret’s Primary School, Ditchling, which was funded through the MLA Cracking Open Culture Learning Links Project 2006.
